This sub kick hard, even with the low RMS and cheap price! It is very responsive. I bought this sub to listen to double bass for metal and it does it job perfectly. You can't beat the $40 price either. Highly recommend to anyone.

Even if your pockets don't overflow with dough, KICKER can still provide the best bass for the buck. The Comp Subwoofer represents the best balance between high value and high performance available in today's round-subwoofer market. It's equipped with all the proven KICKER engineering that you expect, and it's got a new look that leaves the impression that it has a mean streak.

Besides its wicked good looks, the Comp comes with serious muscle, including double stitching on the surround, coil-cooling perimeter venting, and flex-killing ISD (Inverted Structural Dome). The Comp is versatile too, performing in free-air applications as well as in vented or sealed boxes. If all this wasn't enough, the Comp still leaves you with enough cash left over to throw down on a powerful KICKER amplifier to pump all the performance from your sub.
The rigid cone's back bracing completely eliminates distortion, allowing the best bass to be delivered. The larger voice coils, coil wire with intense heat tolerance, highly engineered top plates, and immense power handling still remain, providing the most and best bass from any subwoofer in its class. And here's another first from KICKER--Spiralead tinsel-lead technology for even more strength and durability.
With prices going up on everything else around, the Comp makes perfect sense for any factory upgrade. With the ribbed surround, yellow stitching, nickel-plated push terminals, and a basket design that includes a stylish logo trim ring, the Comp looks as good as it sounds and lets you know who's in the house.
Four sizes are available, ranging from an 8-inch to an extremely affordable and loud 15-inch.
C10 Features
SoloKon for strength and accuracy
T cut top plate for magnetic field strength
Polyimide (Kapton) coil former with Nomex reinforcement for high thermal capability
Spiralead tinsel leads enable high excursion

Sony ECMMS907 Digital Recording Microphone Review

Sony ECMMS907 Digital Recording Microphone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used the ECMMS907 to fill about 150 mini discs since I bought it three years ago. It runs lovingly on one AA battery (unlike it's watch-battery-dependent predecessor) and allows for two polor patterns 180 and 90 degrees. The casing of the unit is rugged. It includes wind screen, travel pouch, stand clip, and four foot cloth encased cable. I have been able to record everything from street musicians to Dave Bruebeck concerts.
In pro audio it isn't considerd cool to like Sony gear as it often uses digital tricks to achieve a bogus sense of higher fidelity, but Sony electronics are bulletproof and work exactly as designed until you lose them or back them over with your car. That said...
Lots of people I have spoken with purchased this microphone thinking they could jack into the 1/8" input on thier laptop computer and get desirable results. This might work if your microphone is inches away from a blaring guitar amp, but won't do well with amient recordings or speaking as the output gain is far too low. Most people are not happy in this situation.
Overall, worth every penny. Perhaps there is a modification out there to improve the output gain.

Mid/Side (MS) capsules The ECM-MS907 features mid/side capsules for natural stereo panorama. The Mid capsule picks up monophonic sound while the Side capsule picks up left/right difference sound--subtracting and adding the two capsule signals yields separate left and right channels (this permits electronic adjustment of pickup angle).

I am a consummate note taker. Note taking is also a memory builder for me as I am a visual learner. I am a tax and business consulting CPA, and I take notes in each client meeting - either by phone or in person. This product allows me to keep a record of my hand written notes and save them to our computer network. I can access from any computer. I can also perform text searches on my handwriting! Yes, my beautiful, yet sometimes illegible writing. So, the neater you write, the better. Although I do not use the recording feature with clients, I do use it to track my notes from Sunday School class. The pen can track four different books, so my Sunday School class notes and the recordings thereof are in a separate book. An awesome pen system. Export to PDF or transcribe into text to Word. Upload to Evernote, Dropbox... I bought the 8gb. I synch every couple of days; recharge less frequently. Have never run out of storage memory or battery. Great little calculator built into the front of each book is very handy for an accountant. Just an incredibly useful product, and I have nothing but praise. Wake Forest, NC and Henderson, NC.

I got my phone but there is a big scratch on the phone frame when I peel off the plastic cover. The phone is working but response is slow. I bought the phone from SellphoneStop. The phone title is refurbised one, but the condition shows New. Actually, it is not new but refurbised one from a very old used phone. There is some gap between the touchscreen and the phone frame and the dust easy goes into the phone. Please pay attention to that if you want to return the phone you have to pay 15% restocking fee and the shipping fee. And the battery cannot be returned. The battery is a faked OEM one, not the genine Blackberry battery. One good point is that the service response is quick. In a word, bad quality with a quick service response. The battery can noly last for 12 hours. No-wifi. Hope this true experience will help you. Regards!

Motorola Deluxe Bluetooth Car Kit HF850 - Bluetooth hands-free car kit Review

Motorola Deluxe Bluetooth Car Kit HF850 - Bluetooth hands-free car kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Due to the new California hands-free requirement, I was forced to get something that works hands-free with my car ('99 Chrysler LHS). I first bought a Garmin Nuvi 760 but the fact that this makes my car a target for theft is not desirable. I could hide the GPS every time when leaving the car but that would be a real pain. So I decided on this unit, which hopefully won't be a desirable thing for anyone to steal.
Overall the Motorola HF850 is probably a good unit. It comes with a microphone and speaker. Only 3 wires need to be connected, two power and one ground. A fourth wire is useful if your vehicle allows the use of a mute wire (mutes stereo when a call comes through). For best voice pickup I placed the microphone at the top of the column by the window. In most cases the molding covering this column just snaps on and off. The speaker would be too quiet if placed behind too much stuff (or the dash) so you want it fairly exposed.
Power connection is fairly easy. I used T-splices (not sure of what they are called) to connect the ground and power wires. I used a pink line (I think Chrysler's are always pink) for the source of constant power and a black for ground. I tried to locate a Start/Run ignition power line, which will cut the unit off when the car is turned off only if a call is not in progress (will leave power to the unit if a call is in progress). I kind of gave up finding a Start/Run wire (dash wires were really tightly rapped and a lot of them). I just picked a wire that lead to something that switched off with the ignition. I think it was a slow power fade (dimmed lights before going out) but it does not matter that much because it's just a sense line which doesn't need a serious power line.
After installation I noticed it beeps each time it bluetooth connects to the cell phone. Not a huge issue but a little annoying. What's really annoying are the required button procedures for holding call to pick up another, dropping a held call, or disconnecting from the HF850 so you can walk off using the cell phone on the current call. For most phones you press the Send button (HF850 calls it "Voice" button) to make calls then possibly press Voice again to "flash" over to an incoming call and hold the current one. Instead, the HF850 requires you press the large blue middle button (HF850 calls it "Multi-use") for 3 seconds. If you don't press it long enough you'll drop the holding call and just pickup the incoming call. Ridicules, huh? You would think to hold and answer would require the quick press, not the long press. But that's Motorola. They have never been the UI (user interfaces) leaders, or even good followers. To transfer a call from the car to the cell phone (so you can leave the car) requires you to press the Voice button for 3 seconds to disconnect the HF850 from the cell. Because the unit doesn't have a display screen most of the functions on your phone can not be used so why bother with the large button AND the send button? Just one button would make remembering which one to press and for how long much easier. But, if you can keep these, admitted few, steps in mind than this unit should make a fairly easy and cheap (I got mine for $90 here) alternative.

Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7" Display, White, 3G Works Globally – 2nd Generation Review

Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G, 9.7 Display, White, 3G Works Globally – 2nd Generation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned both Kindle 1 and Kindle 2, so I'm already committed to the basic idea: e-ink reading in a slim form factor with excellent connectivity to a large selection of books and subscriptions. I have come to rely on my Kindle experience, and it has seriously enhanced my reading.
The DX was not an obvious upgrade for me, but two features put me over the edge: the larger screen, and the native PDF reader. I now have the DX in my hands, and can report PROS, CONS, and NEUTRALS:
PROS:
-- the larger screen is a definite plus. I use the larger type size on my Kindle 2 (older eyes), and at this type size I get far more text per page on the DX. This makes the whole reading experience more book-like (and should be a boon to people who buy large-print books.)
-- the screen is also sharper and crisper than my Kindle 2 in a side-by-side comparison: the text is darker, and the contrast is much better, making for better visibility overall.
-- on a side note, the larger screen also makes it possible to read poetry on the kindle, even at large type sizes. On earlier Kindles, the smaller screen cut off lines, so that you would lose the sense of when the poet ended the line. On the DX, you can see the whole line exactly as the poet meant it, with the cut-off in the right spot.
-- the PDF reader works as advertised, and is extremely convenient. PDF documents appear on the DX exactly as they do on a computer screen. Moreover, you can drag and drop your documents directly to the device using the USB cable (or use the for-a-fee email if you absolutely must.) The only downside: at least for the documents that I've used so far, I cannot adjust the type size as I can with native Kindle documents.
-- screen rotation also works as advertised: it operates as a mild zoom on both graphics and text and offsets slightly the downside of not being able to adjust the typesize on PDF documents. One nice design touch: the four-way navigation stick introduced on the Kindle 2 is rotation-sensitive, and will move as expected relative to the screen rotation.
-- more of the device space is devoted to the screen, while the white plastic border around the screen seems to have shrunk, both in general and compared to the proportion of screen to plastic on the Kindle 2. I like this (but see below about the keyboard).
-- storage: I like the increase in storage space, and don't mind the lack of an external storage card. I can see some people having trouble with this, but only those folks who either a) must regularly carry around PDF documents totalling more than 3.5 GB of space or b) must have nearly 3500 books regularly at their fingertips. I fall in neither category.
CONS:
-- price: it's expensive, as you can tell pretty quickly. If you value the larger size, and the native PDF reader, these features may justify the roughly 30% premium you pay for the DX over the Kindle 2. In truth, the DX SHOULD cost more than the Kindle 2, and a 30% premium isn't unreasonable. But, for my money, Amazon should drop the price on the Kindle 2 to $300 or so, and charge $400 or a little less for the DX. Still, I bought it, and will keep it at this price.
-- one-sided navigation buttons: all of the buttons are now on the right side, and none are on the left. I'm a righty, so I shouldn't complain, but I found myself using both sides on the Kindle 2. Lefties have reason to complain, I think.
-- One-handed handling: I often read while I walk, with my Kindle in one hand, and something else in my other. Because of the button layout, this will be more difficult on the DX.
-- metal backing: I miss the tacky rubberized backing on my Kindle 1. When I placed my Kindle 1 on an inclined surface, it stayed in place. Not so my Kindle 2 and now my DX. This is not a complaint specific to the DX, but it's still there.
NEUTRALS (i.e. things worth noting):
-- weight: the DX is heavier, noticeably so. This is only an issue if, like me, you regularly use the kindle with one hand . . . and even so, it's still doable.
-- keyboard: the keyboard has 4 rows, and not 5: the top row of numbers from the Kindle 1 and 2 has been merged into the top qwerty row, so that numbers are now only accessible with an alt-key combination. The keys are vertically thinner too, so that the whole keyboard is no more than 1" tall (compared to over an 1.5" on the Kindle 2). At the same time, the keys themselves are a bit easier to press, a bit more protruding than on the Kindle 2. For someone with big fingers (like me), this will be a slightly harder keyboard to use, but only slightly.
That's all I can see. Overall, the pluses outweigh the minuses for me, and I'm satisfied with my purchase. I can now think of using my DX for work documents on a regular basis, because of the PDF reader. The screen size and screen rotation make the overall reading experience more immersive.
Overall, the DX feels more like text and less like device and comes closer to the stated goal of the Kindle: for the device to disappear, leaving only the joy of reading.

I ordered the black leather case and love it! The design is quite functional and snug enough to keep the iPod in its place but not so tight that it's a pain to get in and out of the case. The attached belt clip is perfect and is swiveled for ease of wearing. The closure snaps shut and stays shut and the opening to attach the earphones and link to a port is wide enough to do both at the same time without having to take the iPod out of the case - nice! I've had several compliments already on this case from friends. Great purchase for the price.

GE 28213EE1 Dect 6.0 Advanced Cordless Phone with Google Free Directory Assistance Goog-411, CID, and 1 Handset

The handset routinely stops communicating with the base station, at least once every other day and often more frequently. This happens in mid-call or between calls, whether the handset is on the base or not, whether the battery is fully charged or not, with no warning. You fix it by disconnecting the power from the base station for about 10 seconds, then reconnecting and giving the handset about 15 seconds to find the base station again. Then it works fine for a random period of time, ranging from minutes to a couple of days, and then does it again.
I bought it from Target in-store and tossed the receipt (silly me). Just ordered a replacement Panasonic phone with similar features and will toss this phone as soon as the Panasonic arrives. Not recommended.

Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished) Review

Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
So after reading a ton of reviews on Amazon, I realized that a lot of the reasons people rated something positive or negative was because they were comparing their new GPS to an older one. So to be fair, this is my first GPS, so I have nothing to compare it to. First off, it arrived from Amazon in three days using their free standard shipping, which was great. It looked brand new and included every accessory you would need, AC and DC chargers, USB cable, travel case, window mount and dash mount adapter, along with some software to help get you started.
Like some of the other reviewers, the first thing I did was upgrade the firmware to v.4.60. It took me about 10 minutes which included registering the unit with Magellan, which is required to download the upgrade. Since I didn't use it before the upgrade, I can't really speak to the benefits, but I haven't had any issues with the unit freezing up or crashing. I also signed up for the 3 month Traffic Service trial online.
Overall, the menus are very intuitive and easy to use and for the price, really can't be beat. Comparable Garmins seem about twice as much. The unit starts up fast and is quick to determine routes and re-routes. The only negative thing I've noticed is it does take longer to start up after parking the vehicle in a garage as opposed to on the street, either way, 30 to 45 seconds vs. 10 to 15. The traffic service is surprisingly accurate and updates constantly. The accuracy of the maps and POI's seems to be about 2 to 3 years off, which from what others say is about average for units of this price. Mine came loaded with S/W version 29. Magellan is selling an upgrade to version 31 on their website for $80 and calls it their 2008/2009 map. So I'm guessing this is the 2006/2007 map.
The Bluetooth syncs up fairly easily to make and receive calls, but I could not get it to sync up my phonebook or text messages with either of two different Motorola cell phones. The volume is pretty weak and call clarity is about what you could expect, but in a pinch, it makes a decent hands-free device. Can't really be used with the windows down. Overall, for $129 with free shipping, I think this is a great little device and have had no issues with getting it refurbished, although be aware it does only come with a 90 day warranty. Hope this helps.

Plantronics CS-55 Dect 6.0 Digital Wireless Office Headset Review

Plantronics CS-55 Dect 6.0 Digital Wireless Office Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased this item and have used it for about a week so far. I'm very impressed with the range and this headset's ability to shield itself from interference. There simply is no "buzzing" while downloading email to my BlackBerry while on the phone with this thing. I'm sure I'll be upgrading my PBX telephone system soon to suit this headset better; I refuse to use the handset lifter, since that seems so old-school for a headset so technologically superior than any other wireless headset offering on the market. It's important to note that a headset band, three different sizes of over-the-ear-loops and about four ear pads are included with this package.
The only bad thing about it, I can't seem to get the sound amplified as I like it loud. I think it was too much loud music played from my iPod that blew out my hearing, so the sound level should be perfectly accommodating to other folks.
In short, you will not be disappointed by the Plantronics CS55.

The VN900 is a wonderful product. It is the smallest of kind, easy to use, has powerful extra features like programmable alarms to help you remember when and what to do on a busy day. The battery consumption is nill, much lower than some competative products. It suits my purposes perfectly.
but . . .
It does NOT record 90 minutes of voice. In LP mode the sound quality is SOOO poor that it is USELESS. Ninety minutes of muffled incomprehensible noise is perfectly USELESS, a stupid choice on the part of Olympus. The medium and high quality modes are quite good, but you only get 33 and 22 minutes! Folks, this model should be called VN330, not VN900

The handy Olympus Voice-Trek VN-900 features a compact, lightweight design with three scalable recording modes. You'll get high-value storage with a maximum of 90 minutes recording time from 8 MB of built-in flash memory. The recorder weighs just 2.3 ounces and is designed to sit snugly in the palm of your hand.
With its lengthy recording time, the VN-900 is ideal for weekend seminars, extended discussions, recording meetings, school lectures, or study groups, as well as for short memos, ideas, phone numbers, shopping lists, and other notes. The unit combines smart styling with four folders so you can arrange files according to personalized subjects such as "work," "personal," and "to do." A fourth folder (scheduling folder) is used to sort recordings by date, letting you recall the day's meetings, expenses, and reminders for easy on-the-go retrieval. Each folder stores up to 100 messages. Up to 20 alarms can also be programmed for meeting, dates, show reminders, or wake-up calls. Simply press the button when hearing the alarm beep to hear the pre-recorded reminder.
The unit offers a built-in condenser microphone, and a .125-inch microphone jack gives you the option to use a high-quality external mic (not included). A .125-inch earphone jack lets you monitor your files during or after recording.
The VN-900 has three recording modes: HQ mode (for the best possible quality recording and 22 minutes available recording time); SP mode (for a high-quality recording and 33 minutes available recording time); and LP mode (for the most possible recording capacity, with 90 minutes available recording time).
An LCD display lets you check remaining recording time, date and time, voice-activation mode, play mode (HQ/SP/LP), microphone sensitivity (HI/LO), and battery status. Other features include voice activation for hands-free recording and easy deletion of one or all messages in a folder. The VN-900 uses the ADPCM (Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation) recording format.

Average Reviews:

Excellent features and very good GPS. It gets a satellite lock inside my house!!! The voice recognition is the gem in this thing. It really works and once you start using it, it is very useful and functional. You don't have to push buttons.
Positives: Voice recognitions, lots of POIs, on-line sites like POI-Factory to add custom POIs (easy to do), and a very good set of features. I have tried (it works) but not extensively used the bluetooth hands free and mp3 player yet (8GB microSD card ordered) but I think it will be useful. MSN Direct is the way to go and works very well. I am getting helpful traffic updates in Louisville.
Negatives: I have to say the volume on the unit should be higher. I realize the FM radio option is there, but sometimes you are listening to the radio or a CD and it is hard to hear the Garmin. On a trip do they expect you to only listen to the Garmin? I figure if I use the mp3 option on an FM channel that maybe that is a way around the CD because I assume it will give voice prompts through the music audio (have not tried). Also the few hands-free calls I have taken have given very poor sound on the Garmin speakers making it not useful (maybe a software update? Not sure they are using the A2DP or a good profile.). They must fixe these two issues. They should already have this perfected. One other small potential issue. The band for the voice recognition button barely fits my steering wheel (last notch), on some others that are larger it could be an issue (but I think this may be minor)?
I will post more as I use it. I should give it 4 starts because of the sound issues. I will come back and re-review as I use it. It is worth buying. My brother and siter have Tom-Tom and another Garmin (780) and this is definitely better. The voice command and satellite lock really distinguishes it. When you are driving you don't want to have to reach and push buttons on it. Garmin, please improve the audio ASAP.
