(More customer reviews)I bought one of these amplifiers and immediately dropped it on a kitchen floor. The automatic feature that turns off the system when not in use would not function correctly. That is, the unit shuts itself off when you don't talk or there is no audio for a while. When you start talking the unit turns back on and amplifies and passes the audio through to the phone. This unit would delay turning back on for two to three seconds, so that the first few words were actually cut off. OK, I did drop the thing on a hard floor. So I bought another one. I discovered that dropping the Clarity NHA 100 Cordless/Mobile Phone Amplifier is not a problem as the second one worked even worse than the first. With the second unit I received, when I was listening to a conversation the unit would shut off and cut off the person I was talking to and I would have to make a loud noise to get the unit to power back up. The person on the other end would also lose all audio from me until I make a loud noise. Both the first and the second unit worked pretty much the same, so dropping the first was not the problem. I tried both with two different cell phones. with an AT&T wireless desk phone and with a wired desk phone. The darned Clarity NHA 100 Cordless/Mobile Phone Amplifier just did not work for me.
