(More customer reviews)I travel in an RV so many times I end up in places that have a low cell phone signal. In November I switched from T-Mobile to Sprint hoping I could get better reception as I have been located in a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina for the past 8 months. However, unlikely as it may seem, Sprint has even worse signal reception than T-Mobile in this area. I absolutely could not carry on a full conversation without Sprint dropping the call and more often than not I had no bars whatsoever to even initiate any calls. I was relegated to communicating by text message while in my rig.
If I was located in the boonies, I could understand the bad signal. However, I am located less than 3 miles from I-40 just south of Raleigh between two rather large towns less than 15 miles apart. In desperation, I bought the Wilson C-Booster hoping it would help boost the signal as I use my Blackberry exclusively for all my communication needs.
After installing the cradle on the dash of my motor home (using Velcro), I located the antenna away from the rig to get as clear a signal to the cell tower as I could.
I give the performance of the C-booster about a B-. The signal on my phone still fades in and out and I still get the occasional dropped call. About 40% of the time, the person I'm talking to will cut in and out and I have to ask them to repeat what they said several times to get it all. The good news is, about 90% of the time, I can maintain the connection long enough for the signal to fade back in well enough to carry on a normal conversation.
Overall, I am happy with this product although I feel as though I paid more than I should have for the performance I've gotten. Eventually I plan on getting another antenna from Wilson made specifically for RV's in the hopes that will help my situation even more.
