(More customer reviews)This item works great! Just be sure to press the VOLUME button if you don't hear anything when a call comes in. Make sure the batteries are good and make a test call. If you don't hear anything, press the VOLUME button WHILE the 2nd ring is coming in! The Caller-ID isn't sent from the phone company but once, between the 1st and the 2nd call. They don't make that REALLY clear in the instructions and I ordered a new one under the Philips name before I experimented around enough! I then pulled the old ClassCo 500 one out of the trashcan, tested it, and placed it on the phone in the garage. Hrrummmph!
Get the Philips or ClassCo VoiceAnounce 500. They seem to be identical. I have both now...
BUT!..the ASIN:B00016BYHQ ClassCo VoiceAnnounce Caller ID 9900CW - Call waiting caller ID actually announces the name and/or number if you prefer it and will announce an incoming call while on the phone if you have Call Waiting ID! Get one and watch your visitor's head swing around when your phone rings!
