(More customer reviews)I read about how the old KCE-350BT was plagued with persistent connection issues and was to be avoided. Regardless, I can happily say that the the KCE-400BT has no such issues.
I was a bit weary getting this unit for a few reasons, one being the connection worries mentioned above. More so though is the fact that my car is loud. I installed this in my modded BMW M3-- cabin noise is up there and with the window down and my foot on the throttle it's quite loud. Not long ago I was driving on surface streets with the window all the way down when I got a call; I answered it keeping the window down and intentionally hit the throttle fairly hard a few times during the conversation to see how it fared. The results were very impressive, I could hear and be heard perfectly fine throughout the call.
My only real issue with it is that when I want to place a call (I have an iPhone) I can't pick which number to dial when choosing the contact to call (my contacts have multiple numbers), it just uses the first number stored. I don't know if that's a failing of this device or my iDA-X303 head unit, but it certainly limits its usability. This doesn't really bother me though since I hate talking on my phone while driving, I got the unit to be able to answer calls I need to while on the road without having to go digging for my phone every time.
