Philips MSN Dual Phone Single VOIP4331B/37 Review

Philips MSN Dual Phone Single VOIP4331B/37
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought a few of these phones and shipped them to family members in Mexico. We have been spending a small fortune every month on long distance and I was hoping these phones would fix the problem. I haven't gotten a phone bill since we started using the phones, but they were so easy to set up (even for some of my relatives who aren't so computer-savvy) and the clarity on them is incredible, its even better than half of the land line connections you get to Mexico. I thought the comparably low internet speeds in Mexico would be a problem (usually around 512 kbps), but we haven't experienced any connection problems at all. The phone's interface is really easy to use and, other than giving Windows permission to use the device, there is really no configuration to speak of. We are planning on buying more phones to send to fmaily and friends. The only small glitch these phones have is that occassionally they need to be reconnected to the USB; when the phone will not bring up the Messenger contacts list, we just unplug it and plug it back in again.

Tri Specs Bluetooth MP3 Sunglasses - Wireless Cell Phone Connection and Prescription Compatable, Black Review

Tri Specs Bluetooth MP3 Sunglasses - Wireless Cell Phone Connection and Prescription Compatable, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought these glasses a while ago because I liked the styling on them and I read several reviews regarding the sound quality of the earphones and mic. However I wish the reviews that I had read prior to purchasing these glasses had mention the sheer enormity of the COAST CUTTING that has gone into these glasses. The first pair I bought I babied like they were my own children and they lasted 6 months. I got in touch with Trispecs and they, rather generously, replaced them with a second pair. The second pair lasted 2 months before one of the ear phone went quiet and they nearly snapped in half in the middle. This annoyed me so much I gave up. and when I bought these glasses they were $400 not $250. The thing that really gets to me, is the fact that the microphone technology is so amazing in these glasses it ALMOST makes up for the substandard plastics. The chap from Tripsecs said that there are three microphones in the glasses, two over each ear and one in the middle. All three mics have to hear the same noise at the same time otherwise they cancel it out. So if your right mic picks up a noise and the left mic picks up the same noise two milliseconds later it will cancel that noise out!! Now I thought, well that sounds all fancy on paper but does it actually work. I left myself several voice mails on my phone while using the glasses, and stood facing a very loud TV, and when I played back the voice mail, it sounded like i was standing in a sound proof roof talking into the hand piece. I was AMAZED. So then I tried leaving myself a message with my left side facing the same loud tv, and again the results were remarkable!!
Let me try to explain the size of Tripsecs cockup a little better... if the noise canceling system didn't work, I would be trying to give these glasses a NEGATIVE star rather than the 4 I did give them. The glasses you buy at a gas station are better constructed that these glasses!!!
TRISPECS if you're listening; for the love of GOD, PLEASE spend a little more money on the plastics that your making the glasses out of!!! You have the potential to have hands down the best product on the market, but your botching it up by using the plastic they make disposable coffee cup lids out of!!

RCA EMUSIC1 - Digital player - flash 512 MB - WMA, MP3 Review

RCA EMUSIC1 - Digital player - flash 512 MB - WMA, MP3
Average Reviews:

This is a great little basic MP3 player. The multi-color LCD screen is a nice touch, and the voice recorder is decent.
Plus right in, drag and drop your songs and away you go! Not much more to it, though I would recommend using better headphones than the ones that come with it.
Emusic's service is, IMO, perhaps the best of the digital music services. There's no restrictions on your songs, so you can burn them or copy them to your MP3 players as much as you want without them getting "locked" like Itunes. There's lots of hard-to find treasures, and with this MP3 player you get 15 songs a month for FREE for 12 months.

Microsoft M53-00001 Broadband Network Ethernet USB Adapter (10/100) Review

Microsoft M53-00001 Broadband Network Ethernet USB Adapter (10/100)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After having this adapter for about a month it all of a sudden stopped working. The only way i could get it to work was by twisting and holding the cable going into the network adapter. Turns out the little cables inside had pulled out of their plugs making the device useless. I would def recommend another USB adapter that has a seperate standard USB cable attached between the adapter and the computer. Don't waste your money. It also tries to install software that is not really necessary for the adapter to work. All the software tells you (even though its a pretty big program) is if you have an internet connection or not.

I needed some replacement speakers for my durango, and like some other people i went cheep cause i didn't need anything great just something to replace my bad factory speakers. Well these were a bad idea. They install nice are packed good and thats where it stops. I still had 2 good remaining factory speakers and one factory speaker that is about due for replacement for loud music. All three factory speakers listening to them one at a time sounded twice as good as these speakers. Will definitely think twice before buying off name brand again.

Sony Ericsson W580i Unlocked Quadband Phone (Black) Review

Sony Ericsson W580i Unlocked Quadband Phone (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is one awesome little phone. First of all the screen is the brightest and most detailed I have found on any phone. In the store it is so bright it just screams at you. I have found that reducing the brightness to 70% is more than adequate. If you have trouble reading a phone in direct sunlight, fear no more. As for features, there are just too many to mention. I first learned about it from the Toyota website as I just bought a Prius. It is one of the VERY few phones that will integrate seamlessly with the car. It can even upload its phone book via Bluetooth to the car. Most phones (except smart phones/PDA's) will not. They are also 3 times the price. It has a great sounding MP3 player. It is stereo Bluetooth, FM radio...I could go on and on. There are some great themes free online so you can customize away. If there was one gripe it would be that it doesn't come with an M2 memory card which it needs if you are going to load up on music and photos. I can't complain though as this phone is very affordable. Some complaints I have heard are that the number keys are too small. Well, I'm 6'2" and about 280lbs. (not a small guy) and I don't have any problem getting my fingers to work the buttons. The other complaint I have heard about is battery life. Well I have talked and talked and played with this thing for 3 days now, and the battery is still more than half. I'm not sure what people think is good, but after my RAZR...pffft...this thing is great. My techie coworkers were amazed by the display and all agreed that it was unbelievably bright. I would recommend this jewel to anyone who wants a great phone that has a lot of cool features. It blows away the Samsung SCH-a737 and the LG Shine. Go to a local AT&T store and play with one. Then buy one at whatever outlet suits you.

Nokia C6-01 Unlocked GSM Phone with 8 MP Camera, 720p Video Recording, and Ovi Maps Navigation--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver) Review

Nokia C6-01 Unlocked GSM Phone with 8 MP Camera, 720p Video Recording, and Ovi Maps Navigation--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Surely you have read all reviews about this phone (GsmArena, PhoneArena, etc).
I want to emphatize just a few aspects that could help you decide:
1- I was looking for a state-of-the-art cell (touch), but size is very important to me: I don't like iPhone or Galaxy-S size. I need to put my cell in my pocket, and operate it with just one hand; that's the first reason to buy Nokia C6-01;
2- Quality: there is no people that could give you an opinion against the very good quality of this phone;
3- Symbian is TOTALLY customizable: I understand Android could give you a very "update able" impression, but Symbian is too.
4- I am a middle-age professional (44). Big hands, lot of work, very internet-dependent (for work), and travelling a lot by airplane. I need a cell phone to get email mainly through wifi networks, but I really do not have too much social-related activity (Tweeter, Facebook, and so), so I doubted when reading a lot of reviews referring to this aspects. I can tell you that customization is total: you can decide to put every icon related to screens as you want. I've cleaned my screens and setup the icons I needed.
5- Connectivity in this cell is absolutly easy and user-controlable.
6- Installing Ovi Apps is an easy and error-free process. I've installed Opera Mobile (it works like a rock!), Skype, a better calculator, QR barcode reader, etc.
7- I've setting up my Hotmail account and a Gmail-corporate account without any problem: they are living in my cell exactly in the way they should be: each inbox separated from the other, and syncronizing just when I want (over wify or data operator link).
8- Camera is VERY good. Of course it is not a full Nikon with a telex, but the photos are great for such a device;
9-Windows application to manage the phone is great. It works like a charm, easy installation, and very high quality presentation. I can control every aspect of the cellphone (You can even type and read sms in real-time using this app, provided your C6-01 is connected through usb cable !), do backups of your data, contacts, messages, and so.
10- It is beautiful and very stylish. I've bought the silver one (it's very metallic: not "plastic-metallic"). Screen is REAL black, and touch operation is perfect.
So, I'm very happy with this purchase.
I hope this help you.

Midland XT511 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio Review

Midland XT511 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have to think that there is tremendous quality control variability with this radio based on the wildly different reviews.
I'm a radio geek and have been collecting radios for the last 40 years. When I saw the ad for this Midland I just had to have it. I thought it would be a perfect addition for my camping adventures. The radio seems to be totally loaded with just about anything you would need. It has a GRMS/FRS 2-way radio, an AM/FM radio, a weather radio, a clock with alarm and even a 3 LED flashlight. Add to this the fact that it runs on both alkaline and a wind-up rechargeable battery! Wow.
Sadly, none of the functions work very well. Both the AM and FM reception are very subpar. AM reception could only receive the strongest stations and they bled over adjacent frequencies. Many stations that I could pick up on a cheap pocket radio could not be picked up on this radio. FM was worse, only picking up a couple of very powerful local stations.
Weather band worked, but only barely. I was able to pick up many more channels on a little Grundig/Eton wind-up.
FRS/GRMS radio functions were similarly mediocre to poor.
Cranking was more awkward than on other emergency radios that I have used including those by Freeplay and Grundig.
On a positive note, the LED flashlight is nice and the clock/alarm is also a nice feature. You also get a lot of accessories, including an external mic, both car and AC chargers and a carrying strap.
Overall, I was disappointed by this radio. The fact that others like it suggests to me that there may be a lot of variability between radios. However, in general, I would pass on this radio. There are many inexpensive GRMS/FRS radios that would do a better job. If you are looking for a good emergency broadcast band radio check out those made by Freeplay or Grundig/Eton.

I have purchased this GPS tracker couple months back, found its over all operation and functionalities very good.
Had a few initial problems exchanging emails with their support, but in the end I can say I'm a happy and finally a satisfied customer.
had to purchase a separate cable to change APN info, SMSC and SOS numbers as I'm in Canada and we don't have AT&T here.
I hope this helps those who have also purchased this unit and are having abit of a hard time getting it going.
if you have no luck with support drop your comments and I will try to help you with issues I had with my device at first.

ooma Hub - VoIP Phone Device with No Monthly Phone Service Bills Review

ooma Hub - VoIP Phone Device with No Monthly Phone Service Bills

ooma Hub - VoIP Phone Device with No Monthly Phone Service Bills
Ooma's new internet phone system offers a new twist on a market filled with alternatives for voice-over-IP (VOIP) calling. With the choice of either keeping your existing landline or using your broadband connection for a pure internet calling system, it will fill a niche for a lot of people. The simple design and quality calls are sure to get noticed.
Pros
+ No residual monthly service charges! Free domestic long distance!
+ Nice design - sleek unit with big simple buttons and lighted indicators (blue=good, red=bad! :-) )
+ Offers landline integration or pure internet phone options to meet different consumer needs
+ Landline integrated service offers real 911, not internet call center - HUGE PLUS!!!
+ Landline integrated service lets you to use it from multiple phone jacks with Ooma Scouts!!! ooma Scout - Accessory to VoIP Phone Device with No Monthly Phone Service Bills
+ You can keep your same number with existing landline service or get a new number with internet service
+ Included voicemail system can be accessed over the internet via the OOMA lounge!!!
+ GREAT international calling rates!!!
+ Great startup manual with very simple instructions for almost every possible setup
+ Works with any phone, corded or cordless
+ Instant second line allows you to put people on hold, answer another call, or conference in 2 calls
+ Call screening, do not disturb, or send to voicemail when you are not able to answer a call!
+ Voice quality is very good
+ Service includes many premium features, including caller ID, call waiting, 3-way calling, etc.
+ One year warranty on the hub or scouts
Cons
- Initial cost may seem high and keep some people away, though I personally think it's worth it
- Still not able to transfer numbers to Ooma system; internet only system gives you new number; should be coming soon
- Requires an existing broadband connection; dial-up users will need to upgrade before using Ooma
- Perhaps less flexible for those who want to call from their PCs when travelling away from home
- For the internet only version, less ways to have multiple phone lines indoors
- Design doesn't include integrated caller ID screen
- No color options yet - just the basic silver / white
- Ooma system must be prioritized over your home router
- Won't work in a home or business with a home phone routing system (HPNA) already installed
Getting Started
Installation of the Ooma system varies based upon your current home phone and internet setups. As a minimum you must have broadband internet at home (DSL, Fiber Optic, or Cable Modem). It may take time, but the process is made VERY SIMPLE by a well designed "getting started" manual.
The first thing you have to do is go to the Ooma website to activate your hub. Enter your hub MAC address included on the device or box. If you will use your existing landline you can keep your phone number. If you want the pure internet service, you will have to choose a new number. Soon they will allow people to "port" their existing numbers to Ooma, but for now you have to get a new number as with most VOIP services.
The landline integrated version requires you to have basic phone service and the CFB (call forward busy) service locally installed. They will work with the phone company to install the CFB service, though I recommend doing that yourself if possible. However, they won't cancel any home regional, long distance or voicemail services you currently have on your line, so you will have to do that.
Once you finish your activation and billing information, you can start the physical setup. Plug it in directly from the broadband modem and then install the phone and home routers off of the system. Prioritizing your Ooma first in your home network will give techies pause. So far I can't tell any difference in my overall internet usage, but I will be checking this frequently.
Once you have your unit plugged in, it doesn't take long before your system starts blinking blue, which means the basic functionality is working. Once the color turns solid, all advanced features are working. If the ooma tab is red, then you have to do some troubleshooting. I didn't need to, but there are troubleshooting steps in the manual.
When you pick up the phone, you will hear a "new" ooma dialtone. That's how you know that all your domestic calls are now free!
The Looks
The unit looks great! The buttons are big and simple, and the unit is sleek and modern. Even without the manual, you can basically figure out how to use them. Some features require more experience, like pressing both lines 1 and 2 to conference the calls together.
The only things you might want in the design would be colors other than the silver, like black. I personally would have liked a little screen for caller ID on the unit, since I use several older phones. Instead you need a newer phone with caller ID on it, or a little add-on caller ID unit.
Features
The features both on the device and in the system are clutch! You can hear your voicemails as they are being recorded, or put the do-not-disturb on and have it record silently. You can access your voicemail at home or when you are away from home with the Ooma lounge. Easy conferencing is also nice.
One feature I definitely wanted to use was the Ooma scout. The problem is, the ooma scout is designed to work with landline integrated service. As far as I can tell, for those of us that want to use internet only service you have to use a cordless phone system with multiple handsets to access the ooma across your house.
Still, most people will be using the landline / internet combo setup, because having real 911 with VOIP is a really important feature. Not to mention, when the power goes out or the internet goes down, your old landline service is a backup that stays up. You won't have free calls when the net is down, but at least you will still be able to get calls and make local calls. This is something most services don't offer.
The international calling rates were also a good surprise. I didn't know what to expect from Ooma's "low rates," but they were than I expected. You can click on the website to see sample rates. They vary based upon which local area code you are dialing in some countries. Regardless, the rates are all lower than when I have been getting through different calling services or calling cards. I can't compare to the rates charged by other VOIP companies, but I will definitely look into that. For my part, I'm satisfied.
The only thing that the competition offers that I don't see from Ooma yet is the ability to "take the service with you." Meaning, with some other services you can make calls when you're away from home. However, you also have additional monthly charges and add-on hardware charges with those services. Ooma really seems geared towards the home. Hopefully they will integrate a way to use the service away from home. They already seem pretty good and that would put them over the top.
The Quality
Voice quality when making local or long distance calls sound just like any phone. That's the best compliment you can give VOIP.
As for durability, only time will tell how these things hold up. The service is free as long as you have your device. You get a one year warranty from the time you buy it. So I guess than means if your device breaks after your warranty expires, you would have to buy a new one at full price? I guess it all depends on how successful Ooma is.
I only recently got my hands on one of these, so I will have to revisit this product once I've gotten miles on mine. So far my experience has been positive.
Overall this device offers some great features. The savings should add up over time. With continued improvements this product will only become more attractive. Give it a try!

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Dynamic Headphones Review

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Dynamic Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
ATH-W5000 Raffinato is one of the most detailed headphones, and their soundstage is really wide and three-dimensional. There are great reverberations (because of closed wooden cups), which are especially good for acoustic music and female vocals. Three words, which are most associated with their sound: airy, clear and detailied. ATH-W5000 has upward shift in tonal balance. They don't really lack of low frequinces, but they aren't bassy, especially in comparison with Denon AH-D7000 or Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro. The quality of Raffinato's lower frequinces is very good, but there may be lack of quantity. So, ATH-W5000 is definitely poor solution (considiring their 1000$ price) for metal and other heavy music. You should buy Denon AH-D7000 for it, or pay 500$ more and buy Ultrasone Edition 9. But for classical music, jazz and other kinds of acoustic music, ATH-W5000 is by far the best solution from all non-electrostatic serial headphones (from all dynamic headphones, excluding Sony MDR-R10, Sony Qualia 010 and ATH-L3000).

TomTom GO 510 4-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished) Review

TomTom GO 510 4-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Good unit and it routes well.
For $299 refurbished its a pretty good deal.
However I used to have a Garmin Nuvi 660, which was stolen from my truck.
That was expensive so I thought I would try something different\cheaper.
This is a good unti for the money.
But when compared to the Garmin, its not as easy to use from an interface perspective or use in a brightly lit car.
The good:
Cheap. Gets job done.
Good unit for money.
Routing engine is very good. It does not get confused like Garmin does.
Its syncs up fast.
Things that do not work as well as the garmin.
1)Dim display, its very hard to see in the sunlight on the dash. Polarizing sunglasses also make it hard to read.
2) Windshield mount sucks. This is because the unit is pretty bulky and heavy for the bracket provided. It cannot hold up the unit without sagging in a few minutes. There is no adjustment. I ended up putting it very low on the windshield and let it rest on dash board.
3) Interface does not learn from usage. So if you are searching for a destination it provides a list alphabetically not by the closest state you are in. I live in MA....so I have to scroll through all the other states to get to my destination. Poorly thought out. It should start from the state you are in or your home location. It does a poor job of remembering the locations you reguallry search in. I am a computer tech...so I am on the road goign to different houses\businesses in same town. I have to keep putting in same town every time I search. Its annoying.
4)Points of interest are terrible. I was in NH on vacation. It could not locate most interesting things, like Mount Washington resort, restarunts, camp grounds.
5) Display info is not great. It uses the smaller fonts for things like destination duration and when to turn.
It doesn't display speed, or arrival time at destination. WHich I fine to be the most useful feature of any GPS. What time will I get there and then I will know if I am gong to be late or early.
It just says you will get there in 40 minutes,. You have to figure out what time it is and do the math.
For $300 its pretty good for a basic unit. I will get you there.
I would buy the cheaper unit though. If you are ok with spending the extra $80 or so, buy the Garmin 360 or 660.
The software patches released recetnly supposed fixed the routing issues on the Garmin.

The TomTom GO 510 Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator improves upon TomTom's line of all-in-one portable navigation solutions that work straight out of the box. The 510 features a new cutting-edge design that includes a high-quality, extra-wide, four-inch LCD touch screen that offers the ultimate in readability and ease of use.
The Go 510's wide array of functions ranges from detailed maps of the U.S. and Canada--all pre-installed on a 1 GB SD card--to clear spoken turn-by-turn directions to a handy Bluetooth hands-free car kit that lets you make and receive cell phone calls simply by touching the screen. All this in a compact, lightweight body that measures a mere 4.2 by 3.1 by 2.5 inches (W x H x D)--the perfect size for moving from car to car, or even storing in a backpack.
Linguists can't help but admire the Go 510's versatility, as it not only speaks some 36 languages in more than 50 different voices. To determine a location, simply enter a street and house number, a postal code, a city center, or an intersection, and the Go 510 determines the quickest or shortest route to get you there. Should you want your trip to follow specific parameters--such as avoiding freeways or toll roads--the Go 510 follows along by recommending an alternative route. Users can even preview and test TomTom's proposed route before setting foot in the car.
Of course, not all trips go from point A to B, which is why the Go 510 allows you to plan an entire itinerary before leaving the house. Need to make 15 stops while driving to your sister's? No problem. And should you miss a turn or instruction, the TomTom instantly recalculates the route and provides all-new directions. Plus, it's possible to access millions of points of interest, including restaurants, parking garages, movie theaters, amusement parks, and more. If you're running low on gas on a long drive, don't fret, as the Go 510 can locate the nearest gas station in seconds.
The Go 510's unique touchscreen activation eliminates the hassle of dealing with extra buttons or unnecessary hardware when calculating a route. And thanks to the high-quality 4-inch LCD screen--which delivers crystal-clear 3-D graphics, a 480 x 272 pixel resolution, and 64,000 colors--you'll feel in control wherever you are. Users will also dig the screen's anti-glare coating, which ensures an optimal view at all times, even in direct sunlight.
Even with the touchscreen, GPS navigators can be tricky to figure out. That's why TomTom included an extensive guided tour that explains how to get the most from your purchase, along with a batch of useful onscreen tips. And if you're not crazy about the default onscreen interface, you can customize the status bar to show only the information you need.
The Bluetooth connection is another user favorite. Not only can you connect the Go 510 to your mobile phone or headset for hands-free calling, but you'll enjoy such features as echo cancellation and noise reduction to ensure topnotch communications. And answering calls couldn't be easier--just touch the screen when a call comes through. The external microphone, meanwhile, optimizes the quality of your voice, ensuring the people on the other end have no trouble understanding you.
As if that weren't enough, the TomTom Go 510 is also compatible with a wide range of TomTom Plus services and downloads (subscription required), including real-time traffic info and weather reports, access to a host of city and regional maps, downloadable audiobooks for long drives, thousands of extra points of interest, and much more.
Other features include a speeding alert that tells you when you're going too fast, an iPod connection for 3rd generation and later iPods (except the iPod shuffle), and a home dock that cradles your Go 510 while you download info from a PC or Mac. The device also carries a two-year warranty.
What's in the Box TomTom Go 510 GPS navigator, SD card, carrying case, home dock, car charger, windshield dock, external microphone, product code card, documentation pack (with quick-start guide, accessory leaflet, and CD), user's manual.

Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision Review

Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've bought and read dozens of how-to photography books over the years. I enjoyed Peterson, Freeman and many others. In the digital age we have a glut of books on digital photography and post-processing by well-known self-promoters churning out the product. Until now, the only two remaining on my shelf were Galen Rowell's Inner Game of Outdoor Photography and Bob Krist's Spirit of Place.
Within the Frame will join them. When millions of photos are snapped by cameras and phones or produced via software, David eloquently reminds us that vision, creativity, sensitivity and thought are (and always have been) at the core of making (not just taking) meaningful images. This book is a must-read, and one which you'll return to again and again for inspiration and insight. Deserves to be in hardcover, and easily earns the right to be called a classic.

Within the Frame is a book about finding and expressing your photographic vision, specifically where people, places, and cultures are concerned. A personal book full of real-world wisdom and incredible images, author David duChemin (of pixelatedimage.com) shows you both the how and the why of finding, chasing, and expressing your vision with a camera to your eye. Vision leads to passion, and passion is a cornerstone of great photography. With it, photographs draw the eye in and create an emotional experience. Without it, a photograph is often not worth—and can't capture—a viewer's attention. Both instructional and inspirational, Within the Frame helps you on your photographic journey to make better images of the places and people you love, whether they are around the world or in your own backyard. duChemin covers how to tell stories, and the technology and tools we have at our disposal in order to tell those narratives. Most importantly, he stresses the crucial theme of vision when it comes to photographing people, places, and cultures—and he helps you cultivate and find your own vision, and then fit it within the frame.

Vtech 6043 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine & 1 Extra Handset and Charger Review

Vtech 6043 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine and 1 Extra Handset and Charger
Average Reviews:

We have owned this product for about two years and already had to purchase new (expensive) batteries for the handsets because they would no longer take a charge. Now the new batteries no longer hold enough charge for the speakerphone to function - if you press the speakerphone button, the battery life immediately goes to zero and the phone dies (and you lose the call). From the beginning, these phones would die if you left them off the charger overnight.
The design is very slick and appealing, but we found that the features were clumsy and disappointing. You can't convert a caller ID number to a phone book entry because it doesn't include the "1". Phonebook entries on the two handsets are independent and can't be transferred. There is no headset jack.
Overall I would not recommend this phone. We bought it at a discount at BJ's, and for our replacement set I'm paying more attention to customer reviews and will probably go with the Panasonic KX-TG9344T.

Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station Router MN-500 Review

Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station Router MN-500
Average Reviews:

I love gadgets and technology, but I am NOT a computer expert and wireless networking terms such as MAC numbers and Port Forwarding and DMZ are pretty foreign to me. I just wanted a wireless way to share my broadband internet connection between our home office desktop, my PDA (iPAQ 5455) and our kitchen/family room based laptop. The Microsoft MN 500 Wireless Base Station is the ticket to easy wireless networking. All you really need to read is the 4 page quick start guide and the device will be up and running. I read the very informative 100 page manual as well and learned a thing or two, but I really didn't need that informtion. The base station connected flawlessly -though I did reset my cable modem after connecting. That is not in the instructions but my ISP told me it would be a good idea. The base station has worked perfectly since and the signal is very strong throughout my house, upstairs and down- and in fact even in my driveway outside (so I was certain to leave the built-in encryption feature on to prevent drive-by theft of my signal.) My base station is tucked into a cubby hole in my computer desk next to the cable modem and has no problem sending its signal throughout the house. Those who have had problems with the signal probably just need to move the device. There is a lengthy discussion about placement of the base station in the manual (away from metal computer cases, for example). The MN-500 also comes with a hardware firewall. There is much debate as to whether software or hardware firewalls are best. I'm testing. The first two weeks I had my base station I disabled the hardware firewall and continued to use my Norton software based protection. Now, I've disabled that and am using the MN 500 alone. The ease of installation and the firewall and encryption features make this a great product for people who want to share the internet at home but don't want to learn the inner workings of wireless.
