(More customer reviews)I purchased this phone system a little over a year ago (from a local discount chain--sorry Amazon) to simplify getting rid of my land line. I did a lot of research at the time and decided this was the best of the available units.
It has performed very well, though it will occasionally "snatch" the connection while I'm talking on my cell and doing the walk-around-the-house thing as I talk. Easily avoided by using just the Vtech units while I'm in the house. I concur with the other reviewers who praised the sound clarity. Wireless range is very good.
The menu system is a bit clunky, but serviceable. I really like being able to transfer my contacts from the cell phone. Wish it would allow me to capture the number from an incoming call to add to the directory, but since it doesn't permit transferring to the cell phone, just from it, that wouldn't be much of a help.
I'm astonished at the vehemence of criticism re the handsets not being renameable. Is it too complicated to write #2-kitchen, #3-basement, etc. on a small piece of paper and tape it to the chargers? Sure, it would be nice if the handsets were re-nameable. But a 2 or 3 star downgrade? Get serious.
Though it has it's flaws, I wouldn't part with this phone system. Having used it for a year I purchased 2 more as holiday gifts to my daughters' families.
I've never posted a review before, but felt compelled to express my opinion about this product. I have no connection to the manufacturer.
