(More customer reviews)I purchased this phone system a little over a year ago (from a local discount chain--sorry Amazon) to simplify getting rid of my land line. I did a lot of research at the time and decided this was the best of the available units.
It has performed very well, though it will occasionally "snatch" the connection while I'm talking on my cell and doing the walk-around-the-house thing as I talk. Easily avoided by using just the Vtech units while I'm in the house. I concur with the other reviewers who praised the sound clarity. Wireless range is very good.
The menu system is a bit clunky, but serviceable. I really like being able to transfer my contacts from the cell phone. Wish it would allow me to capture the number from an incoming call to add to the directory, but since it doesn't permit transferring to the cell phone, just from it, that wouldn't be much of a help.
I'm astonished at the vehemence of criticism re the handsets not being renameable. Is it too complicated to write #2-kitchen, #3-basement, etc. on a small piece of paper and tape it to the chargers? Sure, it would be nice if the handsets were re-nameable. But a 2 or 3 star downgrade? Get serious.
Though it has it's flaws, I wouldn't part with this phone system. Having used it for a year I purchased 2 more as holiday gifts to my daughters' families.
I've never posted a review before, but felt compelled to express my opinion about this product. I have no connection to the manufacturer.

First off guys, This is my very first review, so I apologize in advance if I missed anything.
I have this unit for a TOYOTA CAMRY '06 and I was like everyone else when I was trying to decide which model to buy. There were NO reviews online ANYWHERE other than the video reviews from Sonic Electronix and Crutchfield (but they both did an okay job).
I am satisfied with my purchase. I bought it mid June 2009
The screen is nice, but when it is really sunny outside, the DVD video seems washed out because of the touchscreen layer. The GPS, radio, and ipod/iphone screens look fine. It's just the DVD playback that is not bright enough under extreme sunlight. When the sun is a bit more forgiving, like during sunset, the brightness is fine. And when your car is under any shade, the brightness is fine. Overall, the resolution and colors look good and the brightness adjusts to your headlights.
On other notes... The left side controls are touch sensitive, not physical PUSH buttons.
If you have a USB cord connected to the front, it'll block some of the screen view, depending on the height of the unit.
The bluetooth function works great with the iphone. Fast and responsive.
GPS options include 2D and 3D angle views. Includes useful Points of Interest (POI) locations with phone numbers you can easily dial to over bluetooth.
I have not installed HD radio, Satelite radio, or a Rear view camera.... So I can't comment on that.
I did not install this unit myself... .... So I also can't comment on that.
If you decide to keep your steering wheel controls, you'll have to buy a separate module. Using it will take some getting used to. --- This is NOT the fault of JVC, but of the makers of the steering wheel controls module/adapter. The steering wheel control module is a little slow for the volume control. Instead of a light push or tap of the steering wheel buttons, you'll have to give is a medium/hard push. Or you can hold the button down, but then the volume increases rapidly until you release the button.
Pros:
--Detachable faceplate - for added security. Includes soft case pouch for faceplate.
--Easy slot loading disc access - No motorized CD/DVD tilt (my personal preference).
--Works with iphone. Fast load times. Takes under 10 seconds to load.
--Fast GPS. Fast SD card reads. Fast iphone controls. Fast CD/DVD reads.
--FRONT AV and USB ports - USB charges the iphone while being able to use.
--Reads burned CD and DVD+R discs.
--Allows album art from iphone and SD cards.
--GPS reads out street names. GPS shows split screen detailed turns and directions. Has GPS voice lane guidance ("get on the left lane" , "prepare to turn left", etc.)
--Can listen to music while being directed by the GPS navigation voice
--Can play audio books at normal and above average speeds.
--Has a simple adjustable equalizer settings
--Reads my Sandisk 16GB (class 2) SD memory card - this is not official by JVC though
Cons:
--No volume knob.
--Low brightness in DVD video playback under extremely sunny days. --Doesn't automatically tag song or band names from the RADIO.
--No real time traffic GPS updates.
--No video playback from an SD card.
--No button color light choices (a choice of blue, green, or red would have been nice). No screensaver choices or customizable menus.
--Removing the faceplate takes getting used to. Not a big deal...
--NOTE:(press the button to eject the faceplate, then lift UP towards the sky then out)
--must remove faceplate to access SD card slot
--must keep SD card in the slot if you plan on adding your own customizable Points of Interest (POI) locations.
--Speed limits are not always displayed... depends on your city
--bluetooth phonebook transfer not compatible with the iphone
By law you're not allowed to use navigation while driving. In order to use navigation and the hands free dialing (as well as DVD playback) while driving, you need to bypass the parking brake switch built in to EVERY IN-DASH car navigation.
Go to a car stereo installation shop and have them connect the "parking brake" wire to a ground source. This will fix your problems!Overall, I really like the unit. This is my first GPS in-dash unit. I would recommend it. Do not pay retail prices for this model or any model. I would try calling different local car audio installation shops and see if they have it in stock. Places like Walmart, Crutchfield, and Sonic Electronix overcharge! This model is not available at Best Buy or Mobile One.
I give it a 9 out of 10. A+
The overriding decision for me to buy it was:
-- IPHONE compatible
-- built-in Bluetooth
-- fast loading times (music, GPS, startup time)
-- DETACHABLE FACEPLATE
-- no motorized CD tilt mechanism
-- front USB input

I use it along with my Ipod with Naviplay adaptor. The sound quality is great and the pairing was easy. The range seems to be quite good too. I often wear it while doing chores around the house and can go into other rooms and maintain the sound. I purchased this to replace my Motorola S9 which kept skipping on me. As a stereo bluetooth headset for listening to music, I would give the Sonorix 5 stars. For use as a bluetooth headset for mobile phones I would give it 4 stars. During phone calls it sounded a bit tinny and at times people on the other end had difficulty hearing me unless I had the unit positioned correctly near my mouth. Still I have used it quite a bit for the last week for phone calls and it is not that bad. The caller ID display is a definite plus.

Ordering and shipment went really well, it is an attractive well made unit but the software would not load. After several tries I called Tech support and was told that not many of these units had been sold and that the software would no longer support Skype nor the keypad dialing, etc unless I lived in Europe. And that there were no plans to update the software. I did get the bluetooth feature to work but I was counting on the Skype compatability and the keypad dialing would have been nice. The advertising also led me to believe that this unit would work in a large room but the user materials that came with the Parrot indicated it was best in smaller rooms. I packed it up sent it back which all went well and I got my money back soon. Therefore, service was good, advertising was misleading and I am out the return UPS shipping charges for the return. Sadly this truely was, "too good to be true".

Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Headset - Hematite Gray Review

For only $40 this headset is a best buy. I have no problems with the sound quality, volume, or people hearing me on the other end. It actual provides better sound clarity both ways then my cellphones built in speaker and mic. Set-up is no problem at all, and so far the battery hasn't run out on me (I charge it every night along with my cell). I heard a lot of people complain about the 850's volume output, but I dont have any problem with the 820. I use it with my Nokia 3650, and the ability to walk away from my cell phone is a huge advantage, considering I don't get cellular reception everywhere in my apartment. Now I can leave my phone in an area with good reception, and walk around the apartment with my bluetooth headset. Don't believe the "32.8 feet" range on the product description, that value is based on the bluetooth specification, which is really a maximum range assuming you have absolutely no interference at all (no walls or other wireless signals). However, I am able to walk about 20 feet through multiple walls without a problem. I basically get coverage everywhere in my apartment where I would possibly walk to (it gets a little staticy in my roommate's room, but it is still audible). The one thing that takes a little getting used to is controlling your basic functions using only one button. This is accomplished by holding the 'Multifunction Button' for different durations, and overall it works pretty well (once you remember what does what). However, I can't use this as a negative remark towards this headset, because basically all bluetooth headsets implement similar designs. An example of using the Multifuntion button: while connected, quickly pressing the button (a "short press") will answer or hang up a call, or activate voice dialing if there is no incoming call. Holding the button for about 2 seconds (a "long press") will redial my last number, or if your in a call, I believe it puts your current call on hold - however, I would rather not take the risk of hanging up and rather use my phone to activate hold or mute. The headset automatically connects to your phone when you turn it on (after initial pairing) which is really convenient. You can download a PDF of the manual from the motorola website so you get an idea of all the controls and commands you are able to pull of using the multifunction button. A definate pro is two volume buttons (increase/decrease) as oppossed to one, and the ability to switch ears with the headset and have the volume buttons work correctly in their orientation. The design look fine and is not very obtrusive and attention drawing.
(+) My favorite feature of this phone: Voice Dialing. With my Nokia 3650, I am able to program 20 voice tags to use with voice dialing (the quantity of voice dialing numbers and accuracy probably varies by phone model). However, eventhough my phone is not a motorola, the voice dialing (along with all the other features) works seamlessly with my phone. I love the ability to leave my phone somewhere else and call people using the voice dialing function. A great bonus while riding in the car.
(-) Only Negative --- The headset is rather light so it almost feels like it is going to fall off because the clip is not very tight, but rather just kind of rests on your ear. I guess this makes it more comfortable during long calls, but I kind of feel like it would fall off easily if I were to be running - although this hasn't happenned yet. Also, the blue light blinks every 3 seconds while not in call, which can get kind of annoying when in the car at night.
FINAL CONCLUSION: At $40 I don't see why there is any reason not to get this, it works fine and sounds great, so I don't see what other features another headset could offer to make it worth the price difference. I would have paid twice as much for this product and still been happy with my purchase.

Received no help in the actual setup, but it was a breeze, a little help from the book, and rest was very easy to figure out. It is joy to operate. The Bluetooth phone works perfect with the unit, paired first time. Sound is great both directions. Minimal steps (touch screen) to go from one source to the other. USB plays my MP3 player, and works great playing my 1800+ songs off of my SD card. The NAV is as good as Garmin's if not better. The street pronounciations are much more understanable, the female voice clear and pleasent. Split screen, etc, etc. It was a real joy to have everything work right out of the box. So many great features, it may take me 2 months to set them up...but 10 minutes to get working to use it...Love it. No, I don't work for JVC, I am a retired old Army Sergeant Major who's loving it! Best money I ever spent. Bought it at Amazon (Barney's) excellent service. Postscript...had this unit 7 months now..(1/16/2010) still totally pleased. Not a single problem.

Nokia BH-503 Stereo Headset (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I feel like the quest for a decent pair of bluetooth stereo headsets is about like the search for the Holy Grail. Most of them don't sound very good or talk quality is terrible or the battery doesn't last or they are very uncomfortable.
I'm happy to say that these were definitely worth the money and a big step up from anything else I have used.
Comfort -- I was concerned about the "secureness" of the fit and the comfort since I had tried a couple of the "back of the neck" styles before and they really didn't work for my head. These are a smidge too big but overall, they are very usable while I'm driving etc. You would not want to work out wearing these, though -- they would bounce right off and if they did stay on, the sweat would probably destroy them.
Incoming Sound quality -- Very good. I'm using this with a Nokia N96 and they get LOUD if you aren't careful. If you are on a call, the extra volume really comes in handy if you are in the car with wind and road noise.
Outgoing sound quality -- I'm taking this on "heresay" since I have not actually listened to anyone talk through these BUT the calls I've made -- no one has complained about the way I sound. When I have used a BT headset in the past, I would often get complaints that there is an echo or I sound like I'm in a wind tunnel. Today I used these on a conference call for work and nobody new (and they are a pretty vocal bunch if there is any extraneous noise -- they'll tell you to mute yourself!)
Battery life -- About average. You'll probably need to charge them every night but they should get you through the day.
Ease of use button control placement: The great thing about these headphones is that the buttons are big. Once you have the lay out memorized, it is hard to make a mistake. Of course, you can also use the controls on the phone if that is handy but you don't have to have the phone in hand to adjust.
Construction: Very solid construction -- some might find them a bit too heavy. However, the documentation is very specific on a list of no-nos for what not to do with these headphones (mostly having to do with protecting them from extreme weather elements or extreme movement). They do provide a nice little draw string bag to store them in which is a nice touch. I probably wouldn't throw them in your backpack to be crushed by a bunch of text books. However, I don't think you are going to have to baby them too much, either.
Overall, these are the best bluetooth headphones I've tried and I've tried them all!

(More customer reviews)I ordered this headset directly from Verizon and it's going back. It is the worst bluetooth I have had to date.
For starters, turning it on an off is an absolute nightmare. The power button is tiny and hard to push in. You must hold it down for 5 seconds. And you need to COUNT to 5 each time. If your pacing is slightly slower, it will go into Pairing Mode. If you're too fast, it won't turn on/off. Over the course of the past few days, I couldn't even get it to turn on. And when it would, it would disconnect itself from my phone (LG Dare).
The sound is extremely tinny on both ends. People constantly asked me to repeat myself and the majority of the time, the people I spoke to sounded like they were on speaker phone. There was tons of background noise, where the bluetooth picked up the sound of my every movement and fed it back to me.
The microphone quality was so poor, I had to repeat many of my voice commands to the point where I had to speak like and idiot, saying each word and pausing for a second.
I've always had Motorola headsets but after 6 months, they flip would break from excessive use. I rather go through a Motorola every six months and have decent quality during that time then go through the aggravation of counting and begging my bluetooth to turn on.
There are better options out there.

I have several of their other products and have been quite happy with them as an organization. Although it will take more than one bad experience to turn from Logitech, this purchase left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth.
The functionality is great. Pairs extremely well with my LG VX8100 from Verizon. However, the sound and mic quality are poor. The headset often has difficulty recognizing commands, especially the "YES" command. Frustrating to say the least. I also have had several complaints about the sound quality, from "you sound muffled" to "you sound like you are at the end of a tunnel".
Unfortunately, I am outside the return policy. If I wasn't traveling so much I would have returned it.

Motorola H715 Bluetooth Headset Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this headset along with a complimentary car charger from the Costco over the holidays for $50. Price-wise, that was about as high as I was looking to. This being my first bluetooth device, I was concerned about lack of crystal clear sound and constantly dropping calls.
Pros:
- Ease of use. Click the dial to call the last person you dialed. Click again to end the call. Click the dial to answer calls on your cellphone.
- Ease of setup. Between 5-10 seconds for my phone to find the bluetooth. A little longer if you're responding to a call.
- The headset has a multi-color indicator that goes from red --> yellow-->green when its fully charged. That in itself is eye candy.
- indicator lights blue when it has charge-- however, fails to indicate how much charge is remaining. The indicator lights up either red or blue. Hopefully you don't find out during an important phone call.
- The device looks great and feels great. Very light and comfortable to wear for extended period of time. I wore the device around my right ear for most of a 7 hour drive from San Diego to San Jose without any complaints.
- no dropped calls.
Cons:
- The sound isn't as clear as it could be. I think this is very noticeable especially when you're driving, you have fits telling the other end to 'say that again.' Also, I wouldn't recommend going outside a 5-foot radius from your phone as there appears to be some pronounced noise.
- Noise-canceling feature seems to be more of a marketing gimmick.
- battery life could be better. After about 3 hours of usage on a recent trip, I stowed the headset away and turned the headset off by moving the boom to the closed position. Two days later I went to use it and the entire battery was drained. Remember that the lithium ion battery is non-replaceable.
- It does take awhile to fully charge. About 1 1/2 hours seems a bit much for such a small device.
Overall, I'm pretty happy about the size, weight, and comfortability of the device. The sound could be clearer --It's noticeable, but not a significant issue that should dissuade anyone from using this headset effectively.

Edit: I just discovered that my SE Z750 charger (wall or car charger), charges this BT device! YAY! I only need ONE charger with me when I travel. Other posts elsewhere show that this is the same for other SE phone models, you can use the same SE charger with the device!
First point. Sony doesn't consider this device to be a BT Handsfree (even if they included the profile) they consider this unit 'music wireless speakers' or 'wireless stereo.'

Well, I've always hated those Borg-like (or Uhuru-ish) ear clips for Bluetooth. They scream-- I'm so important that I must be connected all the time... Another problem with them is that it's very hard to tell WHO it is on the other end. And why would you want to put a RF device in your ear (not that I'm saying its harmful, but...). And then you have to pull them out to listen in Stereo to your music or podcast or if you have the service, the audio stream of your cell's TV/Video cast.
Sony has come very close to solving these issues with the HBH-DS980. This Bluetooth stereo device will allow you listen to a music/sound source while keeping you connected to your phone for calls. It could be the same device or it could be a different device. As I write this I'm listening to iTunes on my laptop (networked iTunes library) and connected to my cell phone.
The unit has a lightweight forefinger length control unit that hangs off of a neck string, so that you can pop the ear buds out and still wear the device, ear buds dangling. The length of the ear bud's cords can be adjusted so you won't have big loops of wire hanging. The entire thing could be tucked into a shirt pocket as you wear it, if you don't want it dangling and people will assume you have some sort of mini-player in your pocket. There is a 'safety release' in the connectors that hold the ear bud wires if someone (small child?) pulls on the unit.
The extra feature that makes this better than some other units is that the display is full featured and goes beyond just a few icons to twenty pictograms plus text for caller id and music track information. Normally invisible the display on an incoming call it lights up with the caller id information. So now, you can accept/reject the call if you wish. Either press the 'call button' on the microphone bulge that hangs closer to your jaw line and the unit will pickup the call, and blank out the music automatically. Reject the call by holding the button down. A mellow beep or the phone's ringtone can announce the call and a beep tells you that the rejection went through. You can interrupt the music to make a call also by pressing the Call button.
The OLED on the unit will also display the ID information of the track you're listening to - provided your Bluetooth sending device supports that information which is NOT available as just a stereo headset. It must support the more advanced headset profile A2DP or Audio Gateway. Along with a volume graph (different settings for music and cell phones allowed), time, battery power, the devices that you are sync'd to, and were sync'd to in the past. However, the OLED is not bright enough for direct sunlight - small flaw.
The 980 is also a remote control device. It has a dedicated Menu button that allows you to view the `Contacts List', `Call List' and `Device List' (and back up a level when using these lists). Using the rocker volume bar allows you to highlight these items and the Play/Stop button is also the 'Select' in this function. This works fine when your phone is the primary device. Sometimes the unit when connected to the laptop (in my case) disconnects from the phone. The call/contact list icons show, but as the phone is not primary there is nothing to display. Holding down the on/off button or the Call/Talk button will resync you to the primary device (more later). But you may not realize that you are disconnected. Another small flaw. The manual says that you can easily transfer any call in progress on your phone to the headset by `pressing the Call button' which may be a SE phone feature.
Besides the manual method to either retrieve a recent call or dial one from your contact list (contact list is divided into alphabet; select a letter and scroll through listings with multiple numbers listed for each contact as they scroll by and can be selected with the Play/Stop button); you can also use voice dialing if your phone supports it. (Voice dialing on your phone will NOT negate the need to use the call button. Some phones support 'Call Control' by saying 'answer' or 'busy' and never have to move your hands. Magic Word (turn on the phone's voice command) and Voice Call Control however, doesn't appear to work with the unit, as it will not leave the microphone open all the time as it's a battery drainer. In my configuration, I could only press the Call button and then my phone would beep (in my ear) for the voice number that I recorded for each number. The OLED shows a dialog balloon pictograph as it waits for the voice command. This could be a problem for some but, magic word is a battery drainer for your phone. It would be highly recommended that you use the device to RECORD the voice commands for better matching.
The Device List will also to allow you to connect to the additional devices. Select the previously paired device from the list and press the Play/Stop button and the `reconnecting Bluetooth' display will show. Adding a new device requires that the 980 be turned off, and then holding the on button until the `search for devices' pictogram shows. The unit supports auto-pairing, and if you're connecting device doesn't-- the pair code is the expected `0000'. Reconnecting or adding a device paired previously is done by the list and pressing the Play button until a reconnect icon appears. A problem exists where your phone and the unit will not always agree on what is connected all the time. Your phone might say it's not, and the unit may say that it is. Selecting a device that the 980 already thinks is connected won't show the `reconnecting' display. Either turning the unit on and off will resync the primary device or pressing the call button will resync, but you'll have to reselect the secondary devices.
The unit can handle 'call waiting' by using the Call button as a flash button.
Headphones
Three different sized sets of silicon buds are supplied to give a good fit, you should be able to wash with soap and water. I found the headphones clear and bright sounding. 192bps media sounded very very good playing from my phone.
As an audio control:
I mentioned before that it can hold an independent volume setting for music vs. voice calls. The unit has independent Play/Stop, volume +/- rocker, Menu buttons and a skip/back slider. When connected to my SE phone; the Play buttons will startup or the media player at the last song in your playlist. You can scroll through the current playlist but you can not change playlists.
Also, the data for the music id on the unit is dependent on the software being used on the player and the Bluetooth profile being used. Right now, I don't have a Bluetooth profile beyond 'Headset (aka earphones and mic)' and stereo headset on the Bluetooth on my PC. So I am not seeing music information on the 980's display. The PC's `Audio Gateway' profile which `should' be valid is not working on the 980 and won't recognize it as a service beyond just headphones (but the Next/Previous buttons do work). My phone has a more sophisticated profile and it shows the data. I can however, go to the next/previous item in the current playlists on both my phone and iTunes.
Additional features:
Unit makes beeping noise and will (on my phone's display anyway) show `Battery Low on Headset" message. Really low battery will just shut the unit down; I got an hour of music playing after the first low battery message.
I think the proprietary charger connection is a plus. There is no question that the unit is correctly connected and the prong snaps into the units body. OLED lights up with animated charge pictogram.
Additional flaw: time display is 24hr there doesn't seem to be way to change it. My phone is set to 12hr AM/PM.
It would have been a big plus to be able to use your own headsets but then the mic would have to be in the unit, and that would have to be near your head.
Replacement silicon buds are 3 sets for $5 at some online sellers. Plus $5 shipping.
I hope that there is a firmware upgrade for this unit, the small flaws can add up to be annoyances for some, and it should all be `correctable' SE might update the firmware, they do for their phones.
Edit: I spoke with SE about some issues with the device, they don't expect to have a firmware update. One issue not mentioned is that the unit's display goes 'nuts' once in a while, and looks like static. Functionality is still there, you don't have a readable display. A full reset will correct this, it's described in the manual, shut off, hold call and menu buttons down together, and turn on, device will reset and correct it.
Also, you can setup your bluetooth profile in the phone to auto-answer calls without pressing the call/mic button.
My SE phone switches profiles when it detects that the 980 is in range automatically and transfers audio to the phone.

Clarion CX609 2-DIN CD/MP3/WMA/AAC Receiver with USB Port Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the CX609 for my 2008 Nissan Frontier. Having high end audio systems in my past two cars, I initially was going to just leave my truck stock, but then I got a new phone (Samsung Omnia) on which I can store 16 gigs of music, and the Bluetooth audio bug bit me hard. I picked this stereo because it does everything I want it to do (I will discuss the functions in detail later) and it's Double Din, so it fits perfectly in my dash. In fact, its worth noting that I didn't need an install trim kit to fit this into my dash. Despite Crutchfield telling me I'd need a $20 Metra kit, I found that all I needed to do to install the chassis was to unscrew the 2 brackets from my stock HU and screw them onto the Clarion. Clarion's install instructions clearly explain how to do this for Nissan and Toyota vehicles, although I did not use the thin spacers that the instructions said to use. Didn't need them as the stock and new HU chassis were both exactly the same width (I believe Clarion makes the stock HU).
The main reason I bought this unit was for the Bluetooth abilities, and because in addition to hands free functionality, it also supports A2DP Bluetooth audio streaming, so I can play music from my phone right through the stereo with no wires. I am really impressed with this technology. I did some testing with a CD burned from MP3s, and with the original MP3s streamed via BT. I honestly can't hear the difference. When connected, the HU controls the phone by changing tracks, pausing, playing, stopping, and it also can FF/RW through tracks, which is something my BT headphones can't do.
The CX609 works well as a hands free unit as well. When a call comes in the HU pauses the music and rings through the speakers. I ran the microphone up through the A pillar and headliner and popped it out next to the map light/sunglass holder. This is about where a stock MIC is found on a Frontier with factory BT, and it works fantastic. Everyone who I've spoken to says they can hear me better on the HU than on my phone. The MIC gain can be adjusted easily from 1-5, but I found the stock level of 3 too soft, and my preferred level of 4 is just a bit too sensitive. I just need to speak at a normal conversation levels rather than "yelling" into the BT which is what I often tend to do. Once connected, the stereo is ready to take calls in any mode. To initiate calls you are supposed to be able to browse your phonebook on the stereo (I haven't loaded mine yet, and might not bother), or you can enter numbers directly, or of course use the phone, which is how I do it.
However, all is not perfect. My major gripe with the HU is also Bluetooth related. The HU can be set to auto connect to the phone, or do it manually. Autoconnect works great, and if you want to listen to the phone right away, it handles everything for you. The problem is that if you are listening to any other source, it goes to Bluetooth mode every time you turn it on as soon as the phone connects, and you need to switch back to your old source. If you shut auto connect off, it stays on the previous source, but to connect you need to switch to BT and go through a menu to select the phone as there is a disconnect button, but no connect button. If you don't connect it, you don't get hands free capabilities if you get a call, so its kind of a no-win. For now I just let it connect (which it does VERY fast) and then switch to another source if I don't want to listen to the phone.
The attatched USB cord is very cool and allows you to connect your ipod up without an adapter (haven't tried it), or plug in your thumb drives and stream music off of them. I plugged a Kingston 4gb micro SDHC chip into a thumbdrive adapter, loaded up some albums, and plugged it into the cord (which I snaked into my glovebox), and it works great. The read speed is almost instantaneous, and it navigates folders easily. Very cool.
The stereo works fine, although as the less than stellar FM sensitivity specs would suggest, it doesn't pick up stations quite as well as the stock stereo, but out on the road its fine. In my basement garage I was able to pick up all the stations I would expect, although 1 came in scratchy until I pulled outside. It does not have RDS or HD radio, which would have been nice, but you can program station titles which in a way is better because you don't end up with your stations named incorrectly the way many RDS receivers do it.
CDs play fine. I haven't tried an MP3 disc yet since I have the phone and USB port, but it does read track titles off my CDA discs... cool.
Overall sound quality is good. I still have stock speakers so I can't say for sure how good. The preset sound schemes didn't please me, but the custom function works well. You can set your low, mid, and high levels, and for each you can select the frequency center and Q ratio (I believe this means how wide your adjustment is). I believe lows can be set at 50, 100, or 200. mids at 500, 1000, or 2000, and highs at 5000, 10000, or 15000. Q settings are .7, 1, 1.4, or 2 for each. I prefer smaller Qs. While it's nowhere near as nice as the 12 band EQ I had in my last vehicle, it does work pretty well. It also has a Bass Expander and BBE processing - but only for CDs and MP3s. I wish you could use BBE on everything.
The display is ok but not as high end as it could be. The color on black screen looks good in some of the colors, but not all. My interior lighting is amber but the amber looks bad on the display, so I set it to Red which I find is easier to read. Ford owners with green illumination would like the green, and blue looks cool but it doesn't match my car. You can customize your color (R0-8, G0-8, B0-8), but most colors are pre programmed. My HU is mounted right at 30 degrees, so I need to crank the contrast to be able to read it at that angle... but it works.
The remote that comes with it does enough, although it wont navigate menus which might be more useful than anything. Warning... when installing make sure you plug the MIC into the correct port. It also fits in the remote port which is the same size. I made that mistake and only figured out the problem after the MIC and IR remote both didn't work. This suggests to me that the IR remote may not function if you hook up a steering wheel adapter... although I can't be sure.
Overall, for $230 + $25 in harness and antenna adapters, this radio is an affordable unit that really does the trick, especially if you want to maintain a stock look. You can get much flashier units in a single DIN, or go with a touch screen DVD player for more money, but to have a radio that looks like it came in the vehicle, but does stuff that most factory radios cant, look no further!

(More customer reviews)The fit on my ear is decent, better than the one I had before, and I truly appreciate the quickness which this was delivered to me but the product itself is not very great. Sometimes who I am talking to can hear me no problem, and then all of a sudden they need me to yell because they can hardly hear me even though I have not moved from the spot I have been in and the noise level around me has not changed. Plus I can't even leave the same room my phone is in when I am talking or I get an intense static noise in my ear. This static also appears in and out during conversation even when I remain in the same spot.
This is an ok bluetooth if you are looking for something cheap and you don't mind that you can tell just how cheap it truly is while you are using it. I would not recommend this to anyone. I've only had it for a day and I am already unsatisfied with the call clarity.

Motorola H350 Bluetooth Headset - Black Review

Things of note:
- Battery life is decent
- Great sound quality
- Long range reception
- a little loose on the ear
- Turning it on and off takes some getting used to
- omni-directional microphone
Now the reason I love this headset is actually because its technical limitations (how loose, the lack of noise filtration) actually means I only wear it in the car, office, or home. In venues where there is more noise and/or people, it's deficiencies become glaringly apparent, rendering its use unacceptable in public places.
For me, however, that's a small miracle. I enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth technology without walking around a store talking to myself to the ire of anyone in my immediate vicinity. I needed a hands-free device for work and travel. This fits the bill.
If you are tempted, as I sometimes am, to seek a headset grafted to your ear 24/7, this device offers neither the audio quality, the looks, nor the comfort you are looking for. If you're looking for a basic hands-free device that gets the job done, this is a heck of a bargain.
